Beverage Shops around Chung Hsing University

ITI Taichung campus is located at National Chung Hsing University, and the university is always surround by beverage shops. As a beverage lover, my top mission is to search for the best beverage shops in my neighbor hood. My top 3 shops are below; let’s have a look at them together.

• Huiqun Fresh Milk Station 惠群鮮奶站

Huiqun Fresh Milk Station is one of the most popular beverage shops for Chung Hsing University’s students. It’s famous for its fresh fruit and milk, and the drinks are thick. Although the cost of the drink is slightly higher than at other beverage shops, the quality of its drink is better. The shop is self-service. First, take an empty cup on the counter, and write the code of the drink you want on your cup. Then, the shop owner will follow the code from the cup to prepare your drink. Once your drink is ready, the owner will give you a small cup of your drink. So, you can drink the drink, then you can decide how sweet you want it. Allowing buyers to try the sweetness at first is a great idea. Next time when your friends visit you in Taichung City, bring them to try the most famous beverage shop.

• Mu Mu Sun Beverage Shop 木木三

Mu Mu Sun is an independent beverage shop, and is located near Zhongxiao Night Market. It serves good quality tea and fresh milk. It also serves wheat tea as well, which is hardly seen at other Taiwanese beverage shops. The first time I went there, the clerk recommended me to try their milk wheat tea with mesona jelly. They made the mesona jelly by themselves, and the jelly is made directly inside the cup, which is given in a single piece. The mesona jelly they gave was almost 2/3 of the cup. I consider that a good deal. Besides mesona, people also enjoy its bubbles as well. The bubbles are very chewy, and the good news is if you spend over $35, you may add them for free. However, the bubbles are so famous that the first time I went there, they had sold out of all the bubbles.

• Gong-Cha 貢茶

Gong-Cha is a chain beverage shop founded in 2006, and the origin of its brand name is from “offerings for emperors”. They set their ambitions to make the best tea in Taiwan. The milk foam that covers the tea, which is about 2 centimeters thick, is the most famous part of their drink. It's not only thick, but also contains a strong flavor. I think it worth adding. They advise three ways to drink their milk foam beverage. First, drink the tea without the milk foam, so you can try their tea directly. Second, try to drink the tea with the milk foam, so you can drink two different tastes at the same time. Finally, mix the milk layer into your tea. That way, you can get a cup of milk tea. This type of tea contains more of a milky and buttery taste than the others. This year the milk foam they have been serving comes in two kinds of flavors, the original flavor and a strawberry flavor. If you are a milk lover, try it and you won't regret it.
