Overview

This time Lonely Planet took me to discover Paris. It also introduces all kinds of stuff about Paris, such as the history, architecture, painters and even wars. To my surprise, there are lots of articles related to war. I can tell how dangerous it is to live in Europe during the Middle Ages.

Opinion

Compared to London, I know fewer things about Paris, so I didn't have any thoughts before I read the book. I quite enjoyed reading it because of the interesting history and lovely drawings. After reading this, I learned there are 4 ghost stations under Paris. They were closed down during WWII and never opened again.

Favorite Part

My favorite part is that I learned a lot of occupations that no longer exist, for example, waders are who keep the severs of Paris clear every day. Moreover, they even held tours to let visitors explore the sewers. Before 1920 visitors took wagons to move around, but after that they took boats. Sewer tours were one of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris. I can't imagine why people spent money on that.

Least Favorite part

In this book, I enjoyed the words and pictures, but there is one thing that I didn't like which is that font of the title. Maybe the author or publisher thinks it will fit Paris more, but unfortunately, I could hardly read it, so I tended to use the title in the corner instead.
